JIM: Flesh & Blood is a one-man show about the great legend and man that is Jim Brown, former NFL star turned actor and activist. Always considered controversial for his straight talk, audiences will join Jim as he takes them on a journey that is his life - on the field, off the field from Hollywood to the hood. Jim tells about being a black man in a white dominated sports business, where if you don't perform your ass was traded or worse fired. He shares about the women, the drugs and the racism in the NFL. And why he walked away from the NFL in his prime, along with Hollywood info and about this activism. And Jim would be Jim without giving you the dime on what his warrior attitude ahs given and taken from him. Straight, with no chasers Jim delivers the highs, lows and everywhere in between on that man that is legend to most. But just flesh and blood to him. World Premiere - Jan 27 - Feb 18, 2007, 4 p.m. Karamu House Jeliffe Theater, Cleveland, OH. (photo credit)

The Cast of WHAT DOESN'T KILL US, ONLY MAKES US STRONGER
What Doesn’t Kill Us, Only Makes Us Stronger - is a stage show about the strength, empowerment, and survival of African American women, adapted from Nicole C. Kearney's critically acclaimed book by the same title.
Listen as Rachelle who is on the verge of saying ‘I do’, she finds her relationship has morphed into one of violence, and fear, culminating in a life-threatening confrontation with her lover.
Then there is Renee, a forty-nine year old mother of three who has returned to college. Suddenly her world is turned upside down when she is diagnosed with breast cancer. Join Renee as she takes us on a journey through the turbulent, unpredictable, and oftentimes viciousness that is breast cancer.
And Alesha, a single, twenty-three year old single mother of three children. After the condom breaks Alesha finds she pregnant for the fourth time. Now she is faced with a choice, and must decide what to do.
Join Rachelle, Alesha, Renee and the other women in What Doesn’t Kill Us, Only Makes Us Stronger, as they share their stories. Stories that exhibit their strength of character, ability to transcend tragedy and transform adversity into unexpected benefits. Stories that may conjure up memories, make you laugh out loud and even leave you in tears. All with one goal in mind: promoting, healing, empowerment, and the celebration of life.
Share the experiences of these women, as their stories validate, and celebrate the undefeatable spirit of the African American woman, her eternal hope, healing, and renewal of being.
